CHIP REMOVAL - CHOOSE MADE IN ITALY
The industrial scenario in Italy is made up of small family-led businesses, where the family themselves face daily market difficulties and carry on business with passion and dedication. Among these, Saporiti from Solbiate Olona, near Varese, is celebrating 65 years in business, with the third generation of the Saporiti family.
THE COMPANY
Having just celebrated their 65th anniversary, Saporiti s.r.l., however small, has always adopted the essential values of market to be highly competitive, constantly innovating their products and addressing all international markets. Over the years, traditional lathe production was replaced by specific manufacturing segments, such as the producers of rooms for plastics and rubber, valves and pumps. At Saporiti, an essential investment to preserve high value for the “Balance of the Intangible” is human resources, a key asset to generate value for the company. So, it’s not mere chance that the company has first-quality staff, including Mr. Silvano Saporiti, recently awarded with the title of “Master of Mechanical Engineering”, and by skilled and qualified engineers employed several years ago, and therefore having great experience and specific industry knowledge. The technical team includes an English-native engineer for service and assistance to international customers. “As it is very easy to exchange information, the world has got very small”, says Sabrina Saporiti, sales manager. “When they need help, our customers can contact us via the Web, Skype and e-mail, with higher security standards, so that they never feel alone. Someone in the company knows them and can offer support. This is one of our key strengths”.
THE PRODUCT
All machines are made in Italy based on Saporiti design, and they have become reference models in their application industries. Equipped with last-generation Siemens Sinumerik 840 CNC, with dedicated software and programming masks, using precision roller guides, Torque motors and forced liquid cooling. All Saporiti systems are built to order and can be tailored to specific customer requirements. The extensive range of solutions developed and built by Saporiti includes PV Series grinding machines for ball valves, designed for balls from ½” to 64”, all with controlled Y axis, equipped with Renishaw probe for grinding wheel-ball centering. The structure of these machines is made of stainless steel to prevent external painting from wearing out the filters. Another interesting line is the PLUS milling machines, designed for the production of screws and thin screws for plastic injection molding, including sectional models.
All machines can be equipped with heads for front cutters, achieving speeds up to 6,000 RPM, disk cutters or Whirling heads. The production program also includes drilling-boring machines with non-rotating workpiece and controlled traverse trolleys, designed to machine twin-screw cylinders and rotating workpieces, with auxiliary boring axis for Bottle Boring operations. The SAR range of milling machines was created to manufacture screws for pumps using disk milling heads. SAR 500 can operate with cutters up to 440 mm diameters on screws up to 500 mm diameter and 1,000 mm length. The machine can remove up to 80 mm in depth in one pass, even on steel with hardness above 300 HB. Finally, the MURS milling machines are designed for indexing by disk cutters or hobs for the production of screws for liquids up to 8,000 mm length.
Silvano Saporiti – the first engineer in Italy to install roller blocks on lathes, to build a vertical lathe, a planetary transmission and a lathe with two moving heads, as they proudly point out at Saporiti – believes that the search for the best technical solution, the most effective and innovative one, is still a central factor in business. These words reflect the spirit of a designer “in love” with his work and of small Italian enterprises.
